Siteground Pricing Review 2020 : Total Cost per Plan?

Siteground Pricing. SiteGround is one of the most popular providers for shared hosting – and one of my favorite ones. But they offer much more than shared hosting: cloud hosting, enterprise hosting, and even hosting plans optimized for WordPress, Joomla, or WooCommerce.

So you are probably wondering: What hosting plan should I get?

If you want to take a more overall look at what SiteGround is all about, have a read of our dedicated SiteGround review.

Let’s then find out what exactly SiteGround offers and how much each plan is.

SiteGround hosting plans in detail

SiteGround offers several types of hosting. Let’s check the prices for each type of hosting individually.

Shared Hosting Prices

Shared hosting is the most basic – and generally cheapest – type of hosting. If you’re looking to get your website online for as little as possible, shared hosting is your best bet.

SiteGround’s pricing structure for shared hosting can get a little confusing, so bear with us.

SiteGround has three shared hosting plans, which range from $6.99/month to $14.99/month. This price is only applicable to your first term, however, meaning once it’s over (you can commit to a one, two, or three-year term), you’ll be charged full price.

Regular pricing starts at $14.99/month. The ‘special prices’, as SiteGround calls them, are essentially loyalty discounts. If you do commit to paying for hosting for the next three years upfront, great! You’ll save between 66% and 70% every single month.

SiteGround’s StartUp plan is most suitable for those looking to host only 1 project but need a high-performance hosting service. It’s pretty cool that the traffic isn’t limited and SiteGround is generous enough with the storage – 10 GB. If you need to create backups on-demand, you should upgrade as this plan doesn’t include this premium feature. However, they will keep 30 backups (the last 30 days), so you can always ask to restore to a previous version of your site if you have an emergency (e.g. a plugin update wrecks your website).

If you upgrade to the GrowBig plan, you’ll have access to on-demand backups. Your storage will be now 20 GB (with unlimited traffic too). This plan also comes with a WordPress staging environment, so you can test your site before pushing updates or new code. The middle SiteGround tier comes with more caching options (static + dynamic + DB queries) – that will make your site load faster.

The GoGeek package comes with 40 GB of space (unlimited traffic too) and access to Git repositories. You will also get granted priority for advanced support.

Cloud Hosting Prices

Cloud hosting gives you the perfect balance of power and affordability. Rather than tying you down to one server, it pulls resources from lots of different places, creating a ‘virtual’ server instead.

SiteGround offers four cloud hosting plans, as well as the ability to create your own custom plan. Set plan prices to range from $80/month to $240/month, while a top-spec custom made plan could set you back a whopping $2,100/month.

These plans are incredibly expensive in comparison to other providers. A2 Hosting, for example, provides cloud hosting from as little as $5. SiteGround’s service may be more powerful, but in our opinion, it doesn’t warrant the eye-watering monthly fees.

WooCommerce Hosting Prices

WooCommerce hosting is designed for anyone running an online store using WordPress. It comes with specific features to help you run your e-commerce business.

I Have another website i.e. Singhal Law Publication, which is running on Sitegound’s Woocommerce Hosting Plan.

Alongside SiteGround’s WordPress-specific plans, it also provides e-commerce hosting. It has three WooCommerce hosting plans ranging from $6.99 to $14.99 per month, all of which come with similar features to its standard WordPress plans, such as automatic updates.

However, SiteGround’s WooCommerce plans also come with tools designed specifically to help you set up and run an e-commerce store!

If you’re building a store using WooCommerce, SiteGround has a set of plans specifically for you!

SiteGround has an official recommendation from both WordPress and WooCommerce, meaning you can trust that its tailored plans are pretty high quality!

Running an online store comes with its own set of needs to be managed on a day to day basis. WooCommerce hosting provides you with tailored features to help you manage your e-commerce business when using WordPress.

SiteGround WooCommerce Hosting Features

You’ll find the same features across all SiteGround’s WordPress plans, including:

  • Automatic WordPress updates
  • Free WordPress installation
  • Free WordPress migration
  • Daily backups

You’ll find all these features on SiteGround’s WooCommerce plans too, plus some helpful extras specifically tailored to store owners.

Easy WooCommerce Setup

SiteGround has a click-and-install Getting Started Wizard, which makes it super easy to set up your WooCommerce store.

SiteGround automatically installs WordPress with the WooCommerce plugin, along with the professional Storefront theme. It’ll all be ready to go within minutes, and you don’t even have to lift a finger or do anything technical. Just sit back and let SiteGround do the work!

Free WooCommerce Transfer

If you already have a WooCommerce store elsewhere, you can use SiteGround’s free WordPress Migrator to easily transfer your site. All you need to do is install the Migrator plugin on your existing store, copy a token from your SiteGround control panel into the plugin, and then relax as the Migrator securely transfers your content.

Alternatively, SiteGround offers a paid migration service, where its own professionals carry out the migration for you. Pricing for this service starts at $30 per site.

Reseller Hosting Prices

Reseller hosting is where you purchase a year’s worth of hosting, then sell it on to someone else. It’s usually used by web design agencies and developers who want to offer clients more than just website creation, or those looking to start their own web hosting company.

Reseller hosting works in a very different way to other types of web hosting. You purchase ‘credits’, which are the equivalent of one year’s worth of shared hosting. These can then be resold to others for a monthly fee.

Essentially, you become the middleman between the hosting provider and the person who’s actually using the hosting service.

SiteGround has three reseller plans ranging from $9.99 to $80 per month. We recommend checking out the middle GoGeek plan which costs $14.99 per month and renews at $39.99 per month.

The GoGeek plan includes 40GB disk space, WordPress auto-updates, daily and on-demand backups, plus priority support and the ability to white-label clients.

Think of reseller hosting as asking someone to design a WordPress website for you. They don’t own WordPress, but they’re highly knowledgeable and are on-hand to help you. If you sell hosting, you need to know how it works and should support those you sell it to.

Extra SiteGround Costs

SiteGround covers a lot of things that you may have to pay extra for with other providers – security, backups, a website builder, etc. – but one thing you will have to fork over for is a domain name.

Your domain name is what appears after www. – for example: ‘’

The cost of a domain varies depending on what type of domain you want – .com is the most common, with SiteGround charging $15.95/year for these domains.

Enabling privacy protection for your domain name (none of your data will be publicly available) has an extra cost of $1 a month.

Final Words

If You need a good web host at an optimal cost then Siteground would Satisfy Your Needs.

If You are getting low Traffic or if You are a beginner then I would say choose its Shared Hosting StartUp Plan.

However, if You are getting a huge amount of Traffic then You can seek further Plans, but for the beginning, I would suggest it’s a StartUp plan.

You can Go for it’s Cloud hosting if you need THE BEST Speed.
