Chapter1-Wordpress Setup

Hi guys! Welcome to our very first chapter, WordPress Setup, of the FREE WordPress Tutorial series.

If you’re a beginner and want to learn website development for free then this series is for you. In this series, I am going to teach you how to build a WordPress website step-by-step with pictures.

Fun Fact: You don’t need to know to code. It’s all about drag and drop mechanisms.

So, let’s start the tutorial.

For making a website or blog, you need 2 things: Domain Name and Web Hosting.

Domain Name: It is the name for your website or blog by which you’ll be recognized on the internet.

Web Hosting: It’s the property/space on the internet for your website where all your website files will be stored.

Learn WordPress Setup Step-by-Step

Let’s set up WordPress step-by-step.

Step1: Choose a Niche

First, define a niche for your blog or website. I suggest choosing a Niche from your area of interest. Here I am listing some niche categories for your convenience.

  • Educational
  • Technology
  • Health & Fitness/Weight Loss
  • Make Money Online
  • Dating and Relationships
  • Pets
  • Self Improvement
  • Food
  • Fashion
  • Lifestyle
  • Travel
  • Personal Finances
  • Parenting, etc.

Step2: Buy Hosting and Domain

The next step is getting a hosting and domain. You can book your domain from any domain broker such as Namecheap or GoDaddy. But I suggest not to buy the domain name first because when you buy hosting, you’ll get a free domain for 1 year from them.

So, click on the button below to buy a hosting. Choose any one of the hosting listed that fits your budget.

(Note: Do not forget to register a domain. They will ask you to register a domain while buying the hosting.)

Step3: Login to your Website

Now log on to your website/ blog using your domain name followed by wp-admin. (www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin)

Hurray! Your website is live. Now you can edit, customize your website according to you. We’ll learn these steps in the upcoming chapters of this series.
